Cubs – Summer 1

We only have 5 weeks in the term! So a very short one.
The plan for evenings is as follows:
28/4 Culture evening– this is an evening exploring another culture working towards badge work
5/5 First aid evening– this will be an evening to complete your first aid badge
12/5 Group Camp Starts – We will be OFFSITE at Trac, from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.
More info will be circulated about how this will work.
19/5 Walk around local area– this is to go towards badge work and exploring and looking after your local area
26/5 JumpTasticOFFSITE. Group evening at Jump Tastic.

Subs this term will be £15 for the first child and £12.50 for each subsequent child.

Cubs Spring 1 2017

Hello All,

Happy new year

Our new term starts next Friday, 6 January 2017, at Hempstead Village Hall.

As we will have all group sections at the same location now, the Cubs will

Be starting at 6:00 and ending at 7:30.

The Plans for this terms meetings are:

6 January       Getting to know you session- meeting new leaders and getting to know the cubs; rearranging the new sixers; choosing new leader names; what the cubs want to do/get out of cubs; games and activities to get to know the cubs

13 January     Entertainer- making short videos in groups; having the videos advertise cubs

20 January     Hobby show and tell- cubs bring in an example of their hobby such as photos or equipment used that they could show to the other cubs and tell them about what they do.

27 January     Stage 1 first aid- First aid evening run by Dave to cover stage 1 of emergency aid

3 February      Cub cooking-  making cupcakes to take mix home (we will provide plain mix but if the cub would like extras such as cherries or chocolate they will need to bring their own); techniques for cooking; cooking hygiene; balanced diet

10 February     Reptile talk- Becky will be bringing in her reptiles and will be showing them to the cubs and explaining how to take care of them; Making posters about the dangers for reptiles in the wild.

The Subs this term will be £18 for the first child and £15 for each subsequent child.

Cubs Autumn 2 2016 message

Dear All

Sorry for sending out programme so late, but due to recent events it has taken longer to complete.

Subs this term is £21, our preferred method is directly into the bank.

District Artist badge, November 19th at Murray Hall. 10-12:30. Please can you confirm whether your child wishes to attend.

St Georges Day Parade 25th April 2015

Dear all – below are the planned timings for next weekend’s St George’s Day parade. Please note that this is a full uniform event – no trainers or jeans. Please wear dark school trousers and shoes. Coats will only be worn if it is raining at the time the parade leaves Spa Rd so please ensure Scouts are suitably attired to keep warm underneath their jumper!

Rehearsal will be held on Saturday 25th April 2015 10.00am – 11.00am at Gloucester Cathedral (earlier than past years due to a wedding at 1pm) . Note that this is only for our flag bearer.

Parade & Service will be on Sunday 26th April 2015 3.45pm Assemble Spa Road (Dog Leg) 4.15pm (Prompt) Parade moves off 4.35pm Parade arrives at Cathedral 5.00pm Cathedral Service starts 6.00pm Service finishes

The Parade moves off & Service start times are Precise – The other times are approximations

Their is limited parking in the general area of Spa Rd – please bear this in mind when planning arrival times.

Here are the dates for the parades this year so far. This includes the district parades. Please note all young people and Leaders are encouraged to attend.

Sun 15th March 9.00am at St Peters Church, London Road

Sunday 26th April – St Georges Day Parade, provisional date, parade through town

Sunday 12th July – Sea Sunday service 9.00am at St Peters Church, London Road

TBC Early September – Gloucester Day parade – parade through town

8th Nov Remembrance day Parade, 9.00am  at St Peter’s Church, London Road


Finished until September


Sadly regular Friday nights have now finished until 7th September. We do hope to get some sessions in this summer though sailing, hiking and a BBQ being on the cards, we will email and let you know dates. See you in September!
